Description
The Shimpo DT-3015N stroboscope is a heavy-duty xenon instrument with an internal rechargeable battery: it has the same functions as the DT-3011N with the complete portability provided by self-contained power; it can also run from the mains using the supplied adapter/battery charger.
The stroboscope creates the illusion of "frozen motion": by adjusting the flash frequency, moving parts appear stationary or slowed down. It measures rotational speed (rpm) or reciprocating speed (strokes/min) with the same accuracy as an electronic digital tachometer. It is suitable for print inspection, motion analysis, preventive maintenance and measuring the speed of repetitive movements, and provides data on vibrating parts, leaks, spray jets and many industrial and scientific operations.
Aluminium construction, polished and focused reflector that eliminates shadow areas, external trigger input for synchronisation with the machine, programmable automatic lamp shut-off from 1 to 120 minutes, phase shift in degrees or ms, storage of 5 user settings, synchronous output to drive other stroboscopes, thread for tripod or fixed mounting.
Flash range 30.0–35,000 FPM, accuracy ±0.05% of reading, flash duration 20 µs, 6-digit red LED display, phase shift 0–359° (resolution 0.1°) or 0.00–1994.4 ms. Illuminance: at 20 cm 1950 lx at 1500 FPM and 2000 lx at 6000 FPM (illuminated diameter 203 mm); at 50 cm 725 lx at 1500 FPM and 850 lx at 6000 FPM (305 mm). Typical lamp life 1200 hours at 1500 FPM. Signal input: high level 2.5–12 V, low 0–0.5 V, pulse ≥50 µs, impedance ≥10 kΩ, range 27–35,020 FPM; sensor supply 12 V DC 40 mA. Temperature 0–40 °C, humidity 35–85% RH non-condensing. RoHS compliance. 1-year warranty.

Integration and programming
The flash rate is set from the keypad or with the knob and read on the display; models with an external trigger input synchronise with a sensor (photocell, proximity) to automatically "freeze" the motion at the real speed of the machine, with phase shift adjustment.
The ST-328/ST-329 bars are installed on the machine using the supplied brackets and controlled from the remote control unit; versions with 100-120 V or 220-240 V supply. For integration with encoders or machine signals, our technical team will support you in choosing cables, sensors and adapters.
Calibration and repair
Shimpo stroboscopes are calibrated at the factory and frequency accuracy is ensured by the quartz oscillator. On request we supply the frequency calibration certificate with traceability. Xenon lamps, batteries, cables and rubber guards are available as original spare parts.
