Description
The ST-5100 is a lightweight portable stroboscope with trigger activation and 21 high-power CREE LEDs. Its exclusive feature is the speed-sensing laser, which transfers the detected speed directly to the flash frequency, simplifying use. The rechargeable lithium battery lasts up to 5 hours. The LED array provides bright, stable stroboscopic light over a wide measuring range, with a far longer life than xenon stroboscopes. It is designed for speed and frequency measurement in motion and vibration analysis and is suited to predictive and preventive maintenance: motors, shafts, gravure printing, extruders, blow moulding, wire marking, engraving, water jets, fans, cams, gears, belts, injectors, vibration analysis, spindles, blade timing and sharpening, in the printing, packaging, textile, automotive, cable, mining, steel, chemical, optical, medical and marine sectors. Adjustment with x2/÷2 and +/- keys, backlit LCD display, large handle, activation from an external sensor with the supplied cable.
Range 30–120,000 FPM (0.5–2000 Hz), accuracy 0.01% ±1 digit F.S. at 25 °C. Illuminance at 6000 FPM and brightness 85: 9500 lx at 20 cm (diameter 178 mm), 2275 lx at 50 cm (279 mm); at 1500 FPM: 4250 lx at 20 cm, 1375 lx at 50 cm. LED life approx. 3–5 years. Backlit LCD display, resolution 0.1 FPM and 0.1 Hz. Flash duration 0.1–2.5° (1–100 on the display). Lithium battery 12.6 V DC 2600 mAh, battery life approx. 5 hours; adapter 100–240 V AC. Integration and programming
The flash rate is set from the keypad or with the knob and read on the display; models with an external trigger input synchronise with a sensor (photocell, proximity) to automatically "freeze" the motion at the real speed of the machine, with phase shift adjustment.
The ST-328/ST-329 bars are installed on the machine using the supplied brackets and controlled from the remote control unit; versions with 100-120 V or 220-240 V supply. For integration with encoders or machine signals, our technical team will support you in choosing cables, sensors and adapters.
Calibration and repair
Shimpo stroboscopes are calibrated at the factory and frequency accuracy is ensured by the quartz oscillator. On request we supply the frequency calibration certificate with traceability. Xenon lamps, batteries, cables and rubber guards are available as original spare parts.
